President's Letter - Fall Highlights: Scholarships Season and “The Best Medicine” on October 3 Supporting Project TCMS

Welcome fall! If you’re like me you’re looking forward to cooler weather and the fall foliage to come! To kick things off, in September, the scholarship committee met to review 52 applications from students at the OU School of Community Medicine and Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. The competition was stiff, but the committee worked to select nine individuals to receive scholarships from the TCMS Foundation. It was inspiring to read the applications and to learn about the leadership and service active activities in which our future doctors are engaged. Their personal statements generated a feeling of hope for the future of medicine. Please stay tuned for more information to come regarding our winter scholarship banquet.

To continue to support the foundation’s activities, I hope to see many of you at our TCMS Foundation fundraising event this Friday evening, October 3, at the TU Lorton Performing Arts Center. Our staff has done an amazing job of planning for this event which you are sure to enjoy. It will be a great opportunity to spend time to network and connect with other TCMS members.
